Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

The man I live with is being taken to court by his ex wife for medical expenses for his 2 kids. The court has asked that I put in writing my household expenses that I pay. Do I by law have to give them that information? We are not married and do not understand why my finances are any of their business. These are not my children.

The o\court has no jurisdiction over you, unless you have been added as a party. Your income and expenses would seem to be irrelevant to his obligation to pay medical expenses. The court wants the information to determine his true expenses. You can be subpoenaed to testify to disclose that information, as it is relevant to his income and claimed expenses.
