Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

marriage issue

I am from Ecuador, living in Chicago as of 2 years ago. About 16 years ago I lived in Miami, Florida and during that time got married there. Shortly after my husband abandoned me, and I never knew where he went. How can I find out if I am still married?

Hello. In my opinion, the best course of action, if you want to start over, would be to file for divorce in Illinois. You can proceed by publication which is a substitute for serving your husband with the

divorce papers since you do not know

where he is. Trying to determine

whether you are still married to him

would be an exhausting task. Will be
