When you bought it, did you put it in just your name or both your name and your wife's? If just your name, did she participate in a mortgage? You must also keep track of how you pay for the mortgage, taxes, insurance, utilities, upkeep and such. If you use her or joint credit or funds, you can convert it to marital or she will have an "equity" in it regardless. If it was put in both your names, the law presumes you made a gift to your wife and it's marital. If something else is going on, none of this may be applicable.
