Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I was married to my husband for 36 years we divorced and then reunited. He passed away before we could remarry and the railroad said I am not entitled to his full pension because we did not legally remarry. I do not think that is fair

It may not be fair, but its the way things are.

It may not seem fair, but unless you were living in a state with common law marriages, as long as you did not remarry, it is the law.
