Illinois is a no-fault divorce state so grounds should not be at issue in your divorce if you are not seeking maintenance. Do you have any children?- as child support would be at issue. Basically, if he is in agreement, you can file an uncontested divorce after drafting a marital settlement agreement. He can default by failing to file an appearance and then there would be one simple prove-up court date. He would also have to sign a six month separation waiver. An uncontested divorce is a simple process as long as both parties agree to the terms. I suggest you consult with an attorney.
