Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I have been married for 12 years, my husband decided to leave me, and just walked out. I receive SSI, and it is nowhere close to household expenses. Can he be made to pay me something to help with bills since he walked out and left me with nothing. He works, and moved in with his family, paying them $400.00 per month to live there.

You have not indicated what he earns or receives. He may be ordered to pay you maintenance, formerly known as alimony, depending on your respective incomes. The factt that he moved out may not be so important. The importasntfactor is your inco-mes first.
