Re: Maternity

If you are certain that your boyfriend is the father of your child, then I believe that you should list him as the child's father on the birth certificate. i also believe that you should hir an attorney to file a Paternity suit naming your boyfriend as the child's father and obtaining a Court Order for child support. If you do not already have an attorney, you may call me for a free telephone consultation.

Re: Maternity

You should put the father's name on the birth certificate. The document is asking for the father, not who, or what, you think is most convenient.

Re: Maternity

The other attorneys are right, you should list the father of your child on your birth certificate. Additionally, you don't have to rely on whether he wants to be involved in the child's life or not. He is legally obligated to provide support for him once you establish paternity, whether he wants to be or not. You need to consult a local family law attorney.
