Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I'm in the middle of a divorce, my attorney seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Last contact was 3-8-10, it's now 4-3-10. He hasn't returned phone calls or emails for over 2 weeks. How long do I wait for a response from him before I look for a new attorney??

That's really a personal decision and is fully up to you. If he has done a great job otherwise and maybe just left on a vacation, then you hold out a little longer. If he hasn't done such a great job, then maybe you send written correspondence, certified mail, terminating the relationship and making arrangements to pick up your file. Of course it also depends on whether there are current issues that require immediate attention.
