Modification of Child Support Order

I pay CS, my daughter has decided she wants to live with me. I live 800 miles from her. I am driving to pick her up this weekend. Order states that I am to pay CS until she is 18, which is in 3 months. Because it is not possible for me to attend hearing I called an attorney who wants $5000 retainer??? Any ideas for me or should I just pay the 3 months?

What type of hearing are you refering to and where is it being held? Also, who has custody? Is it joint? By the time you modify any orders, you would have met your child support obligations.
