Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Mother station in VA and has residential custody, she is being deployed and plans to give power of attorney to new husband, can she do that without the father consent? He wants temporary custody; what can he do?

The child should be returned to father during Mother's deployment unless there is some problem that prevents father from being the residential parent. Father needs to contact his attorney or any attorney in his area to file the necessary paperwork with the courts to seek custody during Mother's deployment.

One can not do a power of attorney on custody. Children are not property. See above.
