Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

moving out of state

I have joint custody of 5 children 10-16 and am the custodial parent. Dad visits minimally and is not involved in the childrens life outside of visitation. I have opportunity for work in Ca and my childrens special education needs could be met there. I understand it is next to impossible to remove children outt of state without dad approval. so what do I need to do in terms of beginning a life there successfully to prove that the childrens needs would be met and get court apporval. current visitation doesnt work for dad or kids. I could have children with dad in summer, holidays as an options. If I have a successful career in Ca...does that make a difference? I am finishing my doctorate....Lake count Il
