moving out of state
i want to know if i could move out of illinois even though i have a open case with dcfs and am going to court because my kids werent going to school enough so its court involved now and i still have legal custody of my kids or do i have to wait for the court and dcfs to close the case against me before i can move and if i do move before they close it can i get into trouble of any kind

Hello. You don't even want to think about moving
out of state at this time. The court would
probably hold you in contempt because it has
jurisdiction of you and your children. The
case needs to be closed. You certainly should
have legal representation. DCFS hearings can
be very difficult to deal with. Once the matter
is over, the court may still keep the case open
to see how the kids are progressing. I will be
