Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Moving out of state

I have sole custody and my ex has visitation on my say. She lives out of state. Would I be able to move out of state and make it to where she doesn't get her for the entire summer?

Re: Moving out of state

I assume you have a court order which grants your ex visitaion. Which means you do not tell your ex when there is visitation. If this is the case then you need to petition the court to allow the move otherwise you could be found in contempt of court for violating the visitation order. You will have present evidence to the court that the reason for the move is not simply to avoid your ex having visitaion.
