Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am looking into moving to a different state. I have a 3 year old daughter that I obviously want to take with me. Her biological father is not on the birth certificate but sometimes pays child support. We've never been to court for any sort of custody or legal anything besides child support. Can I legally take my daughter out of state and reside in another?

If you have been to court for child support, you need to obtain a court order before you leave the state with the child. You now have a custody judgment and the law requires court permission before you leave the state.
