moving out
I'm a 19 year old male living in Illinois. My girlfriend is 16, lives in South Dakota, and has been physically abused by her father. Can she file a claim with the cops and move in with me?

She can file a complaint with the police, but as a minor, the South Dakota Dept. of Child Services will put her into a foster home in South Dakota, not with you.
