Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I am the non custodial father of a 17 year old. The child's mother is taking me back to court right before her 18th birthday to force the child's past medical bills be covered and to request health coverage through my employer. I can not afford either one of these and she has always carried the healthcare coverage for her. I have always doubted that this was my child and I think I'm being used. Question: Do I have the right to petition the court to require that the mother of the child consent to a paternity test? I am willing to pay an independent firm for tests that will hold up in court.
Thank you

You waited 17 years too long to contest - it will go nowhere. Get an attorney if you feel 750 ILCS 5/505 et. seq., does not apply to your situation.
