A non legal seperation

What happens if a cook county officer leaves his wife and kids? We are both sheriffs. We have 2 boys. She put me out. I don't want to go back. I have a girlfriend now and live with her.We were married for 5 years. I just want to know what can happen.

Nothing can happen until one of you would pursue a divorce case in court. I don't know if that's something you're considering. The one exception is that a parent with custody of the kids can start an administrative case to start child support payments. So, if I were you I would still provide financial support for the children or you might face one of these cases which are a waste of everyone's time.
