occupancy laws
ex-wife has my 2 sons living in a 2 bdrm apt with 5 other people..they share a room with two other girls. my 14 yr old son is a type 1 diabetic and she never shows up to any of his dr appts i handle all that and she always gives him the wrong dosages and lets him eat what he wants........i own a house and have a room for my two boys..she is not married and i am ,,i have a stable living envir. and i want to know if i should go for custody?

You sound like you want custody. You sound like you can offer a better environment for the children. You sound like your son with diabetes is actually in some danger being in your ex-wife's home.
