Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
order of protection
my ex-girlfriend has placed an order of protection against me, keeping me from my home and kids. We are on the mortgage together and there has never been any incidents in the home. I have been out of the house for the last 6 months and know she is seeking to extend the order. I have to still split mortgage with her since we both own the home. Since I have not been living there she has sold some of my items out the house and opened credit cards in my name that were sent to the home. I want to live in the home with my kids. We have been together 10 years and had the home for 3. We are not married. What can I do?

Re: order of protection
The credit cards in your name are forgeries. Each one is a felony. Have the police arrest her. She has no right to open those credit cards. She is not married to you. You aren't going to get back into the house as long as she lives there. You may want to file a partition suit. The judge will order the sale of the house, and split the proceeds. If you want to see your children, you will have to file a paternity suit claiming paternity. There you will get an order for visitation. Hire a lawyer and good luck.
Re: order of protection
You need to get an attorney, and get control of this situation. You need to get the court to get the home sold, give you your possessions, and set up child support. As far as living there, I am not sure you understand that the relationship is over. If you are suggesting that you want her kicked out, and for you to live there, that is unlikely. Both of your names are on the mortgage.
