Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Order of protection

Can i as a father file a order of protection against my ex wife for me and my daughter. We have joint custody. I filed for the divorce in 2006.

Also, can i file a restraining order against my ex wife?

Re: Order of protection

you can do both of those, but what is the reasoning behind this question? You need some facts to support your claim, otherwise the court may get frustrated with your claim and punish you.

Feel free to contact me with additional information regarding this matter.

Yes. The limits on an OP are it must be against a member of someones household...a former wife is in that category. There must be harassment or physical abuse on her part. That's the route to take, we don't have restraining orders in IL.
