Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
what does "order to quash mean in illinois? I have served the father of my 10 yr old son to appear in court, he never showed each time, a body attachment was issued to case the last court appearance I had and now I received a quash order and have a court dte in 1/11/11. My son's father does not have court ordered custody, I sent him to live with him when I lost my home and job in another state until I got back on my feet, my son's father was suppose to return my son to me but has not done so, what does this all mean in my case? Will I get my son back, his father will not let me see my son at all, I used to be able to get him on the weekends, but his father won't allow me to talk to or pick up my son now. We live in Chicago.

an order to "quash" the summons means to "void" it based upon a number of possibilities including improper service.
