Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Paternal rights

I just had my baby and the dad is trying to get full custody...how likely are his chances? He is not even on the birth certificate and he lives in another state. Please help me.

There is absolutely no way an attorney can give you a realistic guess as to your "chances" given the limited information. This area of law depends on a lot of facts as to what has happened in the past. If he is the father, he can fight for custody or visitation even if he is not on the birth certificate, I can tell you that at least. I recommend retaining an attorney, to avoid this headache.
