petition to modify or vacate child support IL

how difficult is it to file a pro se petition to modify child support in cook county IL?

i was ordered to pay 28% (2 children live with dad). i have a perm med cond that was diagnosed 2 mos after divorce (02/06.)he cut off insur mid-treatmt, and paying for care ate up resources for support. (can't get insurance coverage for min 3 more years either)

if i continue to see my doc's, i can't possibly afford my home and the regular expenses of having children on top of support; if i don't see my doc's, then the potential that i will be incapable of caring for my children is very real. i'm not trying to dodge, and i realize the obligation exists, but i truly cannot pay it

is it better to get an attorney to help, or can i do this myself?

Hello. You will be better off hiring

an attorney to represent you. These issues are very complex and trying to do this by yourself puts you at a psychological disadvantage. I will be happy to discuss this with you further and in more detail.
