A Petition for Rule to Show is filed by a party who wants to enforce any provisions of a Judgment for Dissolution of Marriage or Order that was previously entered by a judge. There must be a specific act that the other party was ordered to do by a judge, and that party failed to comply with his/her obligation. It's an attempt to enforce the prior judgment or order through the courts.
