Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Phone disconnected
I am in the military and stationed in Virginia, my sons live in Illinois and i have tried to call them but it seems like the phone has been disconnected. It seems as though i have lost contact with them. Their ages are 15 and 13, and are old enough to be able to pick up the phone and call to let me know of changes, since my number has stayed the same. It seems to me my ex is now keeping them from me, can i take her to court in Va? What do you suggest i do? There are some other issues to? Thank you for your time?

If the order governing your visitation and

other rights to have contact with your children

is under the jurisdiction of Illinois court(s),

you must start there with the process of enforcing

the order.

One economical first approach would be to contact the attorney who last represented you in your

domestic relations case in Illinois and request that s/he review the order governing visitation and your right of contact with your children.

Then the attorney could write a letter to your

wife(or ex-wife) reminding her of what these terms

are and request that she do whatever is needed to ensure that you can have telephone contact with your children.

If you did not have an attorney representing you, you will need to retain one in Illinois to handle this matter.
