Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Post Divorce Decree

Whe I appeared at a status hearing I recevied an amended petition from the opposing attorney. The opposing attorney informed the judge that he was going to file the petition but he had not at that moment. The attorney gave a copy of the of the amended petition but it was not signed by the attonery nor the the palintiif. Obviously it had not been filed. Given these circumstances am I required to file and send a response or do I go back to the next hearing status with a motion to dismiss due to procedural defects?
