Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am currently pregnant. I live in Illinois. Me and the babys father are not together, never been married, but he is listed on my medicaid. I dont plan on putting him on the childs birth certificate since he has done nothing but said mean things and trried to stress me out to loose the child, he even said to call him and let him klnow when I miscarry. The babys father is currently on parole for bashing his ex girfriends head in ( basically has a violent background). His sister that he is staying with does drugs and his biologfical mother is a prostitute. Anyway will I have sole custody of the child if I dont name him on the birth certificate even though medicaid knows about him. And also what kind of rights does he have given his background as far as visitation goes

If he says mean things to you, he is still the father and should be on the birth certificate. On a related note, perhaps this man was not the best person to have unprotected sex with.
