Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I believe my prior attorney made a terrible mistake; something about I was at the hearing and I was not at the hearing; but since you have only one chance for a motion to vacate he lost my chance to vacate; What can I do? it is regarding the guardianship of my minor daughter. the whole legal process has been a sham since my husband passed away; my eldest walks in and files a petition and as a ploy to get my minor daughter. and Then this horrible attorney ruins my chances to for quick resolution. Should I file pro se to discharge the guardianship and then hire an attorney? Illinois Cook County
