If your attorney is ending his or her practice, but your case is still pending, isn't he or she going to stay with you until the divorce concludes? If not, has he or she suggested any attorney to substitute in for him or her? If the matter is pending and he or she is your attorney of record then he or she will have to present a Motion to Withdraw before being able to withdraw their appearance on your behalf. At that time the court should grant you at least 21 days to hire a new attorney or to file your own appearance.
Find a good attorney you are comfortable with, bring your paperwork, and they will take care of everything. That way, you don't miss something and screw up the divorce.
