property during seperation

If I get a legal separation, am I able to make a home purchase without having to split that property during the divorce?

Re: property during seperation

Hello. A legal separation has its limitations.

If you buy a home while legally separated, the

home will still be marital property. Chances are

the mortgage company would want your spouse to

sign off to protect its security interest during

the life of the loan. I will be happy to answer

any additional questions that you might have.
