Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

There was a proposed judgement for dissolution entered in my divorce and also a QDRO, which awards me a portion of my husband's 401 (k). The QDRO was entered without me being there. I have been flying back and forth from L.

A. to Chicago. When I hired lawyers, all they did was 'comply.' Why didn't they just tell me NOT to participate? I shouldn't have participated. Am I divorced? I don't know if I'm divorced.

If you are represented by counsel we can't help you according to rules of ethics. However, you can go onto the website of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, "Case Lookup" pages, enter your name/case number or other identifying information, make sure you choose "Domestic Relations", and then you can look up the proceedings and see whether a judgment for dissolution was entered along with other key dates in the proceedings. It will NOT show the terms and conditions of the judgment, but you can at least see whether one was entered yet.
