Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
quadro
My ex-husband of 32 years sued for divorce in 2000. Because he had no grounds, I counter-sued for separation. It was granted for two years at which point he sued for divorce and won. During the separation, we agreed on a quadro date. However, we changed the date in the divorce. Both lawyers and the judge signed the divorce. Now ex husband has hired a new attorney and wants to use the separation date due to greatly increased salary between 2000 and 2003. Can he do this? I do not have an attorney and have less than 72 hours to be in court...
Please help.
Thanks

Re: quadro
Go to court tell judge you need continuance to hiret a lawyer in order to review the QDRO. Then HIRE a lawyer.
email me if you have any questions.
Re: quadro
You post is confusing...has a divorce judgment been entered or is that still pending? If a judgment has been entered the QDRO is sort of a formality and must be consistent with whatever the divorce judgment says. If we're still pre-divorce the argument about possibly using the separation date has some validity.
