Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

My Question is my wife had me served 2 weeks ago with her petition for our dissolution of marriage and i didn't agree to her wants and needs.i got her to change a few requirements and to add what i would like... My Question is since we came to an agreement now. Do i have to file against her petition with new paper work and more petition fees or can we just add as she said an addendum to change /modify ? Will it still be legal and i was told filing an addendum is less then another petition? Also i need to know if agree to her terms and sign papers and have it legally notorized do i still need to file an appearance with court ?Im trying to cut my costs as i have no money for this. Thank you

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you what to do since I am not your attorney. When going through a divorce in Illinois, the court process can be difficult to understand. Costs are a concern for everyone. There are many attorneys and law firms in the Chicago area that represent clients for a flat fee for amicable ("uncontested") divorces, and many of them offer free consultations. I recommend looking for an attorney who would be able to work with you. Good luck!
