Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Just a quick question, thinking about leaving husband and he threatened to fight me for custody? Should I be worried? And on what grounds would they take him from me?

As their father, he starts with an equal right to their custody as you. You do not get ahead simply because you are Mom. The question is who raised the kids, who are they bonded to, which is a better parent, who will maintain the kid's relationship with the other parent, among other issues. Those factors have to considered and evaluated.
