Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

quit claim deed

I am divorcing my husband in Illinois (I have been in CA for 4 years)and want to get my name off of our joint home in IL, and receive my half of the amount of the worth of the home. I am told I need an attorney to fill out a Quit Claim Deed . . . do I need an attorney to fill this out and sign it, or can we do this on our own?

Re: quit claim deed

In any divorce where there is property involved one should always have an attorney involved. Furthrmore you need to include in the divorce decree how the property is going to be divided. I assume your husband has agreed to this?
