Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

What are some reasons of why someone would want to withdraw a divorce petition? My wife threatned to withdraw her divorce petition, but didn't say why. Orginally she filed Pro Se, but now she has an attorney. This is before she received our response from my attorney, & I. Is it possible she wanted to withdraw the original petition, to file a new petition just to ask for more out of the divorce?
