Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
refusal of visitation rights
I have court assigned visitation days that my ex repeatedly ignores. I have filed complaints for violation of court ordered dates, yet the police and states attorney have never prosecuted any of these violations. Is there any other step for me to follow to assure i have my assigned visitation rights?

File a petitioner for rule to show cause.

You have to get the court involved. Once you establish to the court that your ex is not following a court order, the court will find the person in contempt, and start punishing the person. It takes some time, and court appearances. You need to start with a Petition for Rule to Show Cause, and go from there.
