Hello. First of all you

should hire a lawyer to

represent you, and then a

change of custody petition

should be filed. When the

court looks at this type of

petition, it will look toward

what is in the best interest

of the minor child(ren). It

will be necessary for the

court, in most instances, to

appoint a lawyer for the

child(ren), usually called

guardian ad litem. You will

be required to show why your

home and care is in the best

interest of the children.
