Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Reimbursement by the courts
Long story short. I live in FL and have for almost the past 3 years. The IL judge has ordered that I appear in front of her and bring my minor child up there on my dime. I'm not receiving child support and each trip kills me. I'm at the risk of loosing another job and loosing my home. Since the judge is ordering this can the courts reimburse me for my travel?

I would need more information. Did you get permission to leave the State. have you filed an action for child support?
You may be entitled to reimbursement. I wold need to see the file.
email me if you have any questions.
Re: Reimbursement by the courts
Surely the court will not reimburse you. On some occassions another party can be required to reimburse you but generally it's for things like court costs and attorneys fees not transportation costs. I'd like to hear more about why you're being ordered to come up to court here...you may want to just ignore the Judge's Order.
