Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Remove Restraining Order on dad's girlfriend?

My grandson's dad has a girlfriend with a very bad temper and psych problems noted by dad. 2 restr. orders put on her last year by his dad,07,and one on the dad.His dad and girlfriend have each other arrested, restr. orders then they drop charges. He tried to strangle her once. The last fight my grandson was there she was throwing things at the dad, and he pointed out the blood to my grandson. The dads mom suggested a restraining order on her said over her dead body that girl would not be near grandson again. But, they have a baby. When dad tried to get custody, denied,so he got back with the girl. Cases are over, dad wants my daughter to drop the restr. order. I feel restraining order should remain at least until one year has passed and then very serious restrictions be applied as dad lives with girlfriend. Right now, when the dad picks up my grandson for visitation, he has to go to his parents house. I think when that time comes, there should be at least a six month time frame when she can only see my grandson when the grandparents are around to protect him. I am very concerned about my grandson's safety and also what he may see and hear. I told my daughter I would write you and get an opinion. What do you think?

Why not just keep the restraining order? No harm done if everyone behaves.
