removing deceased biological fathers name from minors birth certificate

I need to know how I can remove the dead biological fathers name from my childs birth certificate and replacing it with my husbands childs step Dad. Biological hasnt been in her life since age 3. the only father she knows is my husband her step Dad. will I be able to do this without a lawyer. Where do I go to get started i f I can do this my self. What are the fees?? please help

Hello. In order to change your child's birth certificate, it will be

necessary for your husband to adopt

your child and then the State of Illinois Vital Statistics will amend the birth certificate to reflect your husband as your child's father. Will be happy to discuss this further and in more detail.
