Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Is there a way to request an extension beyond the 30 days notice once divorce papers have been served? I.e. - defendant is in jail and will be released in approx 35 days from the date of the papers being served. Defendant would like ample opportunity to get a family law atty to represent him but is restricted in this ability while behind bars.
