Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Can you request a jury trial for a custody case? I am the father and had a child with a girl I was dating. She got pregnant 18 days after meeting. This was obviously before I got to truely know her. The relationship did not work out and we never got married. I was there for the whole pregnancy and went to every doctor appointment minus one or two. I cut the umbilical cord as well. I want to do shared custody and she does not. She wants me to do one day a week and every other weekend. And I live in Illinois. That would be awesome if you could help!

Thanks,

Keith

No jury trial. If you were getting divorced and she got custody or residential placement, you would get alternate weekend and one night a week, Some judges are enlightened and realize that a baby needs more frequent but less duration time with you.
