Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
I reside in Illinois and I am the PETITIONER of BOTH an Order of Protection AND my Divorce.
I recently took a new job and I do NOT want my (soon-to-be-ex-spouse OR his attorney) to know WHERE I work at. The Order of Protection that I have, clearly allows me to NOT disclose my actual physical place of RESIDENCE....How do I protect myself by NOT also disclosing my place of EMPLOYMENT?
My attorney tells me that she HAS to disclose WHERE I now am working at, to them.
That just doesn't sound right to me!
Is there a law (statute) in Illinois that protects ME to where I do NOT have to disclose WHERE I am employed at? The law seems sort of "vague" 725 ILCS 5/112A-5

You don't have to list the address where you work unless you want your husband to be barred from entering the property, i.e., making it a protected address. If you feel like you can truly keep him from knowing where you work, then fine. But if it would be fairly easy for him to find out after a little poking around, I suggest that you disclose it and make it a protected location. The same goes for your residential address.
