Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

I am a resident of Illinois but I attend school in Missouri which is also where my 10 month old son was born. I am trying to get full custody of my son because his father does not take care of him. How do I do that?

Hello. It will be necessary to seek custody of your son through the court system in Missouri. In my opinion a Court in Illinois cannot have jurisdiction of the matter since your son resides in Missouri.
