Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois
Restraining Order
My daughter and son-in-law are in the process of a divorce. The custody is that they each get custody of one child. He the boy, she the girl. Over the weekend, my son-in-law was shot, possibly gang/drug related. She now wants custody of both children, because her soon to be ex, is using cocaine regularly and is always at a bar and in fights. Do you need an attorney for a restraining order? If not, what do you need to file?

Re: Restraining Order
Hello. I suggests getting an attorney whenever
there is a court proceeding, whether one is the
plaintiff or the defendant. In my opinion, a person is at a psychological disadvantage when
they try to represent themselves. There are
a few other issues that need to be considered.
