Run away son

My 15 yr old ran from his father in chicago, to me in st.louis and he wants to stay with me his father has guardianship in chicago there is also a 12yr old daughter involved. What can I legal do to keep him. The guardianship was needed for me to go into the army which I didn't make it in. My 17 yr old son was also apart of it he sent him to me about 5yrs ago,(he's not his child) He's only doing what he wants as far as the guardianship arrangements go. Please help us its been like this for too long. Thank YOu

Hello. I suggests that you take steps to have

the guardianship modified at this time. Of course this will have to be done in Illinois. Acting quickly is a good idea since the court

will want to see that it is in your son's best

interest to be with you at this time. At 15,

in my opinion, the court will consider your

son's desire to live with you. Of course your

daughter's best interest will be on the judge's

mind as well. Letting the court know that dad's

efforts to raise your children have been less

than enthusiatic will greatly help your case,

especially if you have clear evidence of this.
