Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Can i as s step mom with the child living with us and me being the only provider right now get child support from his mother she already got all my taxes for back support I have only been married since October of 2010 don't really know how this is fair but I want support their son is 16 so we have at least 2 more years and I want her to pay for his college
