Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Separation -

Please explain separation. My sister was told that separation doesn't necessarily mean separate households - I've been sleeping in the guest room for over 6 years and there has been absolutely no contact between he and I for over 13 years. Would that be considered separated?

Not legally separated. You are still married. Sounds like you need to get a divorce.
