Legal Question in Family Law in Illinois

Separation Specifics

I've been separated for over 2 1/2 years. I was told I could acquire a divorce very simply and economically at this point. Just go the the county and apply. However I still have 2 remaining 16 year old children. How are they effected and can my husband still be covered under my medical insurance, if I get the final divorce?

Re: Separation Specifics

Since there are still minor children from the marriage you will NOT be able to simply walk into court, file docs and get divorced. You need to speak with an attorney because the court will order your husband to pay child support and that can not be waived by either you or your husband.
